One has to start somewhere…
After finishing my sketch I ran into two dear friends who had come to the cafe.
Perhaps the cafés can be the new piazzettas somehow.
Here’s to spontaneous gathering and holiday cheers.

There is nothing like seeing photography and drawings from a trip abroad to make you realize all reality is subjective, and we choose to see what we want to. We just don’t realize it in our own backyard.

Love cafe’s…in the sixties and 70’s, they where my haven for studying and working on my papers (San Francisco); Also, hanging out with friends with no pressure or time limitation – throughout life to the present and future; When I need to concentrate, I take my book or magazine and sit at Pete’s – I appreciate the distraction as it helps me be more present with my reading through providing arreation. it is a piazza…a hang out for anyone…for those as well who do not have a haven at home to dwell in and be inspired…they then rent a table at Starbuck’s or Pete’s or Twiggs or….by buying something to hang their hat and create a temporary home….for the morning or the afternoon…. Common ground…love the sketch and the photos….and the idea of a piazza….thanks!!🙏🕉💕

Cafés can be a piazza for the price of a tea.. since it’s too cold to sit outside ( and San Diego lacks true public places downtown/uptown except for Balboa Park and the Harbor..)
